WiSe Research Group is a sub-group of the Network Laboratory (NETLAB) at the Department of computer engineering of Bogazici University.

The mission of the WiSe research group is to conduct research with a high impact and quality in the field of Wireless Sensor Networks, Pervasive Systems and Ambient Intelligence.

Our research interests include

  • Activity Recognition with Wireless Sensors
  • Participatory/Urban Sensing
  • Border Surveillance
  • Visual Sensor Networks
  • Protocol Design and Evaluation for Wireless Sensor Networks


Currently, we have 20 members, including 2 faculty members, 1 postdoctoral researcher, 8 PhD students, 4 MSc students.

WeCare Project
WeCARE(WSN enabled Home Care): Accidental falls threaten the lives of people over 65 years of age and can be overcome with quick action for saving lives. Old people who live alone and those who have chronic diseases constitute the main risk groups. Fast and effective detection of falls will increase the quality of life of these people. In this project, using accelerometers together with a video sensor, multimodal fall detection mechanisms are investigated. architecture
(TR) Kablosuz Ağlarla Sağlık Gözetimi
Boğaziçi Üniversitesi Bilgisayar Ağları Araştırma Laboratuvarı (NETLAB) tarafından geliştirilen kablosuz ağlar yardımıyla sağlık gözetimi sistemi, özellikle yaşlılar ve kronik rahatsızlıkları olan kişilerin sağlık hizmetlerinin bir kısmına evlerinden ulaşmalarını ve sağlık bilgilerini sağlık profesyonellerine aktarmalarını kolaylaştırmayı hedeflemektedir. Bu şekilde sağlık hizmeti maliyetleri düşürülecek ve kişiler sürekli olarak ve evlerinden çıkma zorunluluğu olmadan sağlık hizmetlerinden faydalanabileceklerdir. architecture
